Remmel has several decades of experience in litigating insurance coverage cases.
Some of these cases have involved claims exceeding one hundred million dollars.
These cases have included Aerojet-General Corp. v. Transport Indemnity Co.
(1997) 17 Cal.4th 38, 70 Cal.Rptr.2d 118, in which the firm filed for the
insurer plaintiff one of the largest and most well-known cases concerning the
millions of dollars of damage at issue at the Aerojet premises in Sacramento by
Aerojet’s pollution through its rocket propulsion operations. The Aerojet site
was rated at one time as the worst site in the United States by the
Environmental Protection Agency. The firm also acted as litigation counsel
concerning the application of the pollution exclusion to the claims arising out
of the weeklong fire at the Safeway warehouse located in Richmond, California.
The amount at stake was in excess of one hundred million dollars.
The firm has litigated many insurance coverage cases involving computer hardware
and software issues, professional liability claims, entertainment-related
matters, intellectual property claims, and a multitude of general liability
matters.
